Our Voices of Influence is designed for in-house teams. Cornell Voice does run public Voices of Influence programs.
In-house team programs are run for any group of employees or related stakeholders who want to develop their voice for influence.
Voices of Influence (run virtually) involves 13 hours of contact time. The breakdown is:
Workshop Week
Monday 2 hours
Tuesday 3 hours
Wednesday 2 hours
Thursday 2 hours
Friday 2 hours
Plus 2 x 45 minute debrief sessions 15 and 30 days after the workshop)
Plus 30 mins in total to complete 2 surveys on their voice.
Cornell Voice manages the majority of the administration of the program. Our bespoke designed program portal allows participants to access their survey results dynamically and on demand, gives them access to program collateral such as the workbook and ongoing practice resources. It also designs our Program Summary to debrief the results of the program for the business.
The participating business will need to support Cornell Voice administratively in the following ways:
- Manage the online platform that hosts the virtual sessions
- Host the virtual sessions in real time
- Manage invitations and participant engagement
- Select participants and their nominating managers
- Communicate the value of the program to participants, managers and relevant stakeholders
- Assist in chasing up late surveys
- Nominate senior leaders in the business to observe and give feedback at the final pitch on Day 5
Voices of Influence is a blend of theory and practice. It is a dynamic, collaborative, informal exchange of ideas. Participants are expected to use their voice and participate vocally and physically. It is not an academic lecture where one person holds the information and disseminates. It is a sharing of ideas towards the creative act of speaking working with opinions, ideas, feelings as well as thoughts and logic. Once participant ideas are developed in writing, they then lift them off the page by speaking aloud and working ‘on their feet’, which includes a practical element of learning about body, breathing and voice.
Absolutely. It is the only way to deal with this fear. Our priority is to make this a safe space to examine and explore. Voice only comes from feeling safe. Right from Day 1, we set up a rehearsal room, collaborative, workshop space where all ideas and offers have space to breathe so they can be considered. Participants learn how to empower themselves to manage performance anxiety so that their ideas can be heard in a room. This is the safest place to address your fear.
