"Bizarrely, I feel much calmer when speaking. I don’t know why. Maybe it has to do with deliberately relaxing my throat, tongue and breathing while speaking to get a more resonant tone."
Tim

"I have become more aware of my breathing, need to pause while speaking and not inflecting my voice at the end of a thought. I feel much more comfortable speaking in front of an audience now, than I did prior to the course."
Kathy
Team Leader | Philadelphia
" I have learned how to embrace the power of silence to reclaim my thinking and that I do have permission to speak and to take up vocal space especially when there are a lot of loud voices at the table."

Tangible outcomes for your team

Personalised, expert feedback

The voice is as individual as a thumbprint, so we approach coaching the same way.

Your voice is a culmination of habits and patterns developed over the formative experiences in your life. Our coaches listen deeply to these habits and select and teach techniques specifically relevant for you.

Sophisticated techniques

Our voice techniques are anchored in the sophisticated architecture of work developed by Master Voice teacher, Kirstin Linklater, recognised globally as the leader in spoken voice technique.

Our coaches have trained directly with Kristin and have been designated to teach her work (only 400 people in the world have achieved this accreditation).

Increase presence and impact

The aim our voice work is to revive the speaking voice to its natural range and resonance.

The overall outcome is a more expressive voice that communicates presence, confidence and impact, while agile enough to influence and engage a variety of audiences.

Observable change

We like to give you an experience of a more expanded, influential voice in your voice sessions.

The hard bit is carrying that change out into the world, so we support you with an ongoing strategy to apply your learnings to your upcoming speaking engagements and meetings.

 FAQs

How do I get started with an individual coaching engagement?

When you make an enquiry, you will have an initial briefing call with Lucy Cornell CEO of Cornell Voice. She will assess your needs and discuss program design and length with you. When you are ready to start she will connect you with Rebecca DuMaine and you can book in sessions and you are set to go.

I work for an organisation who are willing to fund my training. Can you send me a proposal for business sign off?

Yes, we can. You will need to have briefing call with Lucy Cornell first set she can ascertain your needs and she can send you a proposal based on that discussion.

Can you guarantee that my voice will improve?

Your coach will be able to give you an experience of a more impactful voice during your sessions. The hard bit is taking it out into the world and applying it in front of others. The longevity of the vocal change will depend on how much you practice and apply the skills you learn.

How much practice do I need to do?

Depending on the stubbornness of your habits, sometimes you will need to work vigilantly and consciously to rewire your neurological pathways. Your coach will give you homework to apply and usually this will be in the form of mindful, daily exercises and/or applying new techniques to your daily speaking experiences, such as your daily meetings, phone calls, presentations.

Will I still sound authentic after individual voice coaching?

Yes absolutely. We are only interested in helping you sound more like you, not sticking on a voice that is disembodied and insincere. That said, sometimes when you have been only using a portion of your natural voice for a long time, when you open up your voice and access other natural resonances it might seem unfamiliar. We are only interested in helping you revive your natural voice and releasing you from the limitations of your habitual voice.

Do I have to have 6 sessions?

No. 6 is the typical number of sessions. You can have 1 session if you like. You will talk this through in the briefing call with Lucy Cornell when we assess your needs and we can work out a plan that serves your needs and suits your timing and budget.

An influential voice is your birthright.
